The bank's figure is before tax, so 18% GST is added on top.
Applies when: Only exact fixed bands are represented. Higher bands use per-Rs1,000 calculations with minimum/maximum caps, non-customer 50% uplift and student 50% concession; those require a bounded rounding/adjustment-capable schema instead of approximation.

How to avoid it
Use NEFT or RTGS where the recipient will accept a transfer. Rates are often lower for senior citizens and at rural branches.
